Hebrew Language & Literature Minor

(M052)- seven courses in Hebrew Language & Literature

Students receive advanced training specifically in the Hebrew language (28 units), ordinarily by taking JUDA 1-2-3-101-102-103 (or the equivalent) plus an upper-division course to be chosen in consultation with a Faculty Advisor.

Suggested Courses:

JUDA 1- Beginning Hebrew

JUDA 2- Intermediate Hebrew

JUDA 3- Intermediate Hebrew, Continued

JUDA 101- Introduction to Hebrew Texts

JUDA 102- Intermediate Hebrew Texts

JUDA 103- Advanced Hebrew Texts

One elective course* with a strong Hebrew Language or Literature component to be selected in consultation with a faculty advisor.

*JUDA 199 is often used to complete the elective course requirement when other courses are not on offer. Students choosing this option should arrange to do independent study with either Professor Goodblatt or Professor Propp by filling out this Special Studies Enrollment Form [PDF].

Choose the Correct Minor Code

Please make sure that when you are declaring your minor you choose the Hebrew Language and Literature (M052) minor. Students in the past have erroneously declared the minor in Hebrew Literature (M027) offered by Literature Department.
